Haha! This is an interesting post, dear Matamoros. In addition to being a frequent Casino user and good relations with the King of Spain, it seems that Golmayo had a lot of affinities with Capablanca, but he never got along very well with Alekhine. Perhaps this isn't an isolated fact, as neither the bookseller Aguilera nor the group that supported the young Arturo Pomar managed to live long with Alekhine, who passed through Spain during the 1940s, but ended his life in a hotel in Portugal. More recently, French Grandmaster Maxime Vachier Lagrave (MVL) complained/protested against Alekhine for not having left a consistent legacy in his time in France. Oh, my ...
