STAUTON ECUATORIANO
Conjunto de guayacán ecuatoriano, al que en adelante denominaremos Stauton Ecuatoriano. Es bastante parecido a sus "hermanos" finlandés y sobre todo al de Latvia, favorito de Mijaíl Tal.
Antiguo ajedrez tallado en madera de guayacán. Realizado en los 50-60` del siglo pasado. Dejaron de producirse hace muchos años, porque la explotación de esta especie de guayacán fue protegida.
El rey mide 100 mm de altura. Las figuras no son pesadas, pero si equilibradas y se asientan sobre tela de paño de billar. Una base sostiene el pecho, el cuello y la cabeza del caballo. La crin está tallada con delicadeza.
ECUADORIAN STAUTON
Ecuadorian guayacán set, which we will call the Stauton Ecuatoriano hereinafter. Is quite similar to its Finnish "brothers" and about everything to Latvia, Mikhail Thal´s favorite.
Old chess carved in guayacan wood. Made in the 50-60`s of the last century. They stopped being produced many years ago, because the exploitation of this guayacan species was protected.
The king measures 100 mm in height. The figures are not heavy, but balanced and sit on billiard cloth. A base supports the chest, neck and head of the knight. The mane is carved with delicacy.
