2) El bando que lucha contra el peón aislado, debe tratar de bloquearlo, concentrando sus esfuerzos en dominar la casilla de enfrente del peón, reducir el material (la mayoría de los cambios son bienvenidos) y tratar de alcanzar un final, porque esta fase no es un hábitat natural para el peón central aislado, y porque en los finales, como regla general, se convierte en un objetivo inmóvil y, por lo tanto, frágil.” D.
